Overview Our Live Broadcasting service (also known as "streaming") gives artists the opportunity to reach a worldwide audience from almost anywhere on the island.
2poor2tour utilise the mobile data network, which covers in excess of 95% of the populated regions of the island, to provide a single uplink feed to the 2poor2tour live streaming servers. From here your live broadcast is available to a worldwide audience.
Quality Our stream is completely configurable but as standard we use a 125kbps stream of which 70kbps is for video and 48kbps for audio. This produces a mono FM radio quality audio stream and a fair to good quality 320 x 240 pixel video stream at 15 frames a second. The output stream received by clients is transmitted using the Windows Media Video 9.1 and Windows Media Audio 9 compression codecs. We have found this to be the optimal settings for streaming live, offering good quality and, ensuring that viewers with slower internet connection do not miss out on your live performance.
Infrastructure 2poor2tour use streaming servers provided by Felikz.net which are housed in respectable data centres across the Isle of Man, UK and Europe. 2poor2tour use a number of different systems to produce your live video stream and serve it to multiple clients. Access to the uplink service is restricted from direct internet access and the live stream is encrypted using industry standard algorithms to ensure the security of the live stream.
Capacity Whilst a complete stress test has not been performed on these servers we estimate that the infrastructure should be capable of serving approximately 600 simultaneous users.
